Our Flourishing Families · Hong Kong
Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. This policy explains how personal information is handled when you contact Our Flourishing Families, use this website or follow its links to services.
1. About this policy
This policy is prepared for the Our Flourishing Families website at www.ourflourishingfamilies.com, with reference to Hong Kong’s Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486). Privacy enquiries can be directed to Lisel using the contact details below.
It covers website enquiries, subscriptions, booking and purchase administration, and website usage information. Information collected during counselling, coaching or a group programme may also be covered by a separate collection notice and service agreement. This website policy does not replace those documents or consent to a service.
2. Information you provide
- Enquiries: your name, email address, selected service and the message you choose to send through the contact form, plus any contact details you provide by email or phone.
- Subscriptions: your name, email address and subscription preferences when you choose to receive updates.
- Bookings, purchases and consent forms: information you submit through the linked checkout or form, and related correspondence needed to deal with your request.
- Website use: technical and usage information associated with hosting, security and the configured Google Analytics service. See our Cookies Policy.
You choose whether to contact us or subscribe. Fields marked as required are needed to process that particular request; without them, the form may not submit or we may be unable to respond. Please share only information relevant to your enquiry. Avoid sending detailed therapy histories, identification documents or payment-card details in a general enquiry. If information about a child or another person is needed, contact us first about the appropriate process and your authority to provide it.
3. Why information is used
Information is used to respond to enquiries, discuss or administer the requested service or purchase, maintain relevant correspondence, operate and protect the website, understand website use, and meet applicable legal obligations. Personal data will not be used for an unrelated new purpose without the consent required by the PDPO.
4. Updates and direct marketing
Receiving promotional updates is optional. Before using your personal data for direct marketing, we will explain the intended use, the data involved and the types of services or resources being promoted, and obtain the consent required by Hong Kong law. Making an enquiry or booking does not by itself subscribe you to marketing.
You can ask us to stop using your data for direct marketing at any time, without charge, by emailing lisel@ourflourishingfamilies.com. Where an unsubscribe facility is provided in a message or subscription account, you can also use that facility. Essential replies about your enquiry or service are separate from promotional updates.
5. Service providers and other recipients
The website uses Webflow hosting and forms. Google Analytics is configured for website measurement, and Cloudflare Turnstile is loaded for form protection. The site also directs visitors to ThriveCart for checkout, Google Forms for the supplied consent form, and Substack for subscriptions and posts. Information you give to an external platform is also subject to that provider’s privacy notice.
Where needed for the purposes above, relevant data may be handled by the people responsible for your enquiry or service and by providers supporting website hosting, communications, form processing, checkout, security and analytics. Disclosure may also be necessary to comply with a legal obligation or lawful request.
6. Storage, security and transfers
Personal data should be kept only for as long as necessary for its purpose and any applicable legal or professional requirements, then securely deleted or anonymised where appropriate. Retention depends on the type of record and the reason for keeping it.
We will take reasonably practicable steps to protect personal data against unauthorised or accidental access, loss, processing or use. Where a provider processes data on our behalf, appropriate contractual or other safeguards are required for security and retention. Online transmission cannot be guaranteed to be risk-free.
Some providers may process information outside Hong Kong.
7. Access, correction and concerns
Under the PDPO, you may ask whether we hold your personal data, request access to it and request correction of inaccurate data. Send your request to the contact below. We may need sufficient information to verify your identity and authority; please do not send identification documents before we explain what is needed.
Requests will be handled within the applicable PDPO requirements, normally within 40 calendar days, subject to lawful exceptions and notification requirements. Any fee for a data access request must not be excessive. If you have a privacy concern, contact us; you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. A material change to the intended use of personal data will be explained and any required consent sought.
